And for what it is worth, sites like Smash and Promo Only literally work their asses off too, to give you legal releases, on time (show me who of the three of us is faster. (Good luck, Chuck), and at a reasonable rate.You got a problem there? You got a problem thanking the people (the labels and the distributors) who produce this stuff for a reasonably minor fee so that you can use it to make you look like a hero. You have problems paying the incredibly talented VJ remixers who churn out the stuff that makes you look like you have a reasonable clue as to what you are doing?There is a problem with that? Doug Howard has a point.And just cause some companies get the material free (Not VJ Pro) I'm talking audio sites.They still have to pay people to make intros, remixes etc. So they pass that along to the dj.It's easier for a dj to get into a legit record poll then to get promo material from the labels.Unless you're well established you won't get shit for free.I don't mind paying record pools, video pools etc. I don't have enough time in the day to edit all audio and video. Hell I edit vids everyday and still have a smash subscription.
